News for this Thursday, March 1, 2001

Dear Sponsors;

Here is the weekly news on RCIA.

Feedback Requested:  Labyrinth -  We hope you found last week's Labyrinth beneficial.  Please let us know what you thought about the evening.  We are also very interested in feedback from your candidate or catechumen.  Talk to them about this activity.  What was good about it, are there any changes they can recommend?

This Week's Meeting Agenda 3/1/01

* Meeting Topic: Conversion-  Pat Kemp will be the presenter for this week's Thursday meeting.  Conversion is the process by which we all move toward a life that reflects Jesus' life.  Pat will cover this process of changing and evolving.

* Sponsor's Meeting- 715pm-  Please note we are starting a bit early so that we can join the candidates and catechumens.

* Practice for the Rite of Sending-  We will be practicing for this event at Thursday's meeting, another reason sponsors need to be there, please.

General Information:

* Lent:  Marie Egolf will be talking about Lent this week and explaining it's significance in our faith.

* Rite of Sending, Rite of Election, Easter Vigil:  All these events are starting to approach.  Is your candidate approaching these events with an understanding of it's meaning and more importantly, are they moving towards these milestones in their faith journey willingly?  Marie is currently either meeting with each candidate / catechumen to discuss this matter or they have been asked to respond to these questions in writing.  You may want to include this topic too.

That's all for now...See you all Thursday.
Marie Egolf, Pat Kramer and Hans Bruhn

Dear Sponsors;

The Rite of Sending this past Sunday went very well.  We hope your candidate / catechumen will agree.  Please provide us with feedback as usual so we can continue to improve.  It was particularly nice to see program participants from last year join us in the hall after mass. Thank you to all who brought food and helped with set up.  I am sure you will all agree that Cynthia Forsyth once again created a welcoming environment for us, thank you Cynthia!

This week proves to be just as busy, and significant.  Here is the schedule:

3/8/01-  Thursday's meeting topic will be Our Father, Way of the Cross.

3/10/01-  Rite of Election at St. Francis of Assisi in Concord.  The ceremony starts at 10am, please be there by 9:30-9:45am.  All sponsors need to be in attendance.

Please contact us if there are any questions.

Pat Kramer, Marie Egolf and Hans Bruhn

Dear Sponsors,

We hope you all enjoyed participating in the Rite of Election this past Saturday.  The choir is always an impressive part of the ceremony.  Awesome voices!

This Thursday 's meeting topic will be Purification and Enlightenment.  We will be exploring as a group the reflection process on scriptures that are part of the Lenten season.  This reflection process helps create within us purification.  As a result, we hopefully you will find an enlightenment that comes from committing ourselves to Jesus.  We hope you can join your candidate or catechumen.

Please contact us if there are any questions.

Pat Kramer, Marie Egolf and Hans Bruhn

Dear Sponsors,

Once again, we hope this note finds you all well and enjoying the Spring weather.  Here is the RCIA News for this week:

The topic for this Thursday's meeting is Prayer.  We will go through Guided Meditation and Centering or Contemplative prayer as well as mentioning other types of prayer.  This should be a good preparation for the retreat on Saturday.

Speaking of retreat, this Saturday, March 31st, is the retreat.  It will be held in the ministry center on the Christ the King Parish grounds.  Al Garatto will be the facilitator.  We will begin at 9:00am and the retreat will end at 3:00 pm.  Lunch will be provided.

PLEASE CONTACT YOUR CANDIDATE OR CATECHUMEN AND TELL US WHETHER YOU WILL BE ATTENDING THE RETREAT SO THAT WE HAVE AN ACCURATE COUNT.  WE WILL NEED A COUNT OF ATTENDEES BY THIS THURSDAY.  THANK YOU.

Please contact us if there are any questions.

Take care,

Pat Kramer, Marie Egolf and Hans Bruhn
