It sinks quickly and is gone.
But the ripples that it leaves behind
Go circling on and on.Like a stone our words and actions
Make ripples in our day.
We can cause a smile or tear
By what we do or say.
It could be any angry stone
With waves that drown the heart.
Hurtful things when acted out
Can drive us all apart.
May this stone be a reminder, Lord
To choose my words with care.
Let my ripples be a kind word
Or an action that is fair.
Help me keep my waters calm
When my stone is dropped and gone.
